Solar heating with hybrid panels – Bouches du Rhône (FR)
The move of the Ramier family to Allauch in the Bouches du Rhône triggered the desire to find a global ecological solution.
They exchanged an old oil-fired boiler “that consumed a lot and smelled bad” for a solar combined heating solution. Now the Ramier family benefits from solar heating with 4 DualSun hybrid solar panels coupled with an ÖkoFEN pellet boiler.

In this pretty Provençal house with a stone and mosaic swimming pool, a room housed an old oil-fired boiler “which consumed a lot and smelled bad”. Mr and Mrs Ramier attach importance to the premises, organic, quality and Made In France. So in order to start on a good basis, this couple of teachers and parents of 3 teenagers wanted a heating solution that was both ecological and comfortable. They opted for solar heating, a clever combination of 4 DualSun hybrid solar panels with an ÖkoFEN pellet boiler.

DualSun has teamed up with ÖkoFEN to develop the Smart XS-e Dual, a new solar and wood cogeneration system for single-family homes. It is an ideal alliance to enable individuals to become producers of all their energy: electricity, heating and hot water.
How does it work? With the Pellematic Smart XS boiler from ÖkoFEN, a fully condensing pellet boiler. Housed in a single module, it includes both heating and instantaneous hot water production. This boiler also incorporates a solar exchanger (storage tank, controller and exchanger), allowing it to be connected to our DualSun hybrid solar panels.
Fully automated, the boiler starts up when the sunlight is too low and the regulation ensures an optimization of the solar gains. Thus, the individual consumes what he produces or sells the surplus, thus saving on his energy bill while adding value to his production!

The solar, “the summer friend of the pellet! “We are convinced that there is a real logic between pellet and solar energy, and the Smart XS-e Dual offer is there to prove it.
The solar installation went very well, it was carried out by the installation company SOLEIL VERT, professionals they found competent. “For me it’s inevitable to move on to ENR” revealed Mrs Ramier, who regrets “that not much happens at this level in France. It’s almost a taboo subject, when we say that we are concerned about these issues or that we are talking about ecology, bio etc.”. Hence the importance of setting an example! You have to know how to show common sense and act in an ecological way, at the risk of never getting out of the impasse in which you find yourself…”. A great lesson for all of us!
